Welcome to my eFolio!
"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful." These are the words of scholar Albert Schweitzer, who looked to redefine the meaning of success. In May of 2012, I will graduate from Holy Cross College. The school's mission is to provide its students with an education that "forms competent minds and courageous hearts for leading purposeful lives." Here, there is an understanding that the purpose of an education is not merely for success, but for happiness. Thus, I have been encouraged and challenged to search for a career that would bring me success through the pursuit of happiness, rather than searching for a career for the sake of success itself.
Welcome to my eFolio! My name is Mark Travis and I am a senior at Holy Cross College. I am originally from New Bremen, Ohio. After a long conversation with my cousin and a lot of praying and discernment, I decided to take a leap of faith and transfer to Holy Cross my junior year after previously studying at Ave Maria University and Miami University.
At Holy Cross, I have traveled to France, interned with the Robinson Community Learning Center, and volunteered as a mentor for the Take Ten program. I have been extremely involved on campus as the student body treasurer, Vice-President of Programming Board, Residence Assistant for Pulte Hall, President of Delta Epsilon Sigma, Admissions Ambassador, and a member of the Mission Team.
Throughout my eFolio, you will get to learn about me and my experiences at Holy Cross College and how I am "Redefining Success."
Thank you for taking the time to look through my eFolio.
